The International Fishing Vessels might not be the only issues affecting #Galapagos and their locals
We were sent this document which states some of the issues that locals are facing in order to reactivate the Economy in #Galapagos
Our source, mentions that majority of business owners are unable to make payments for anual licensing to operate, pay taxes and more due to the current economic crisis.
According to our source they cannot operate normal activities, to reactivate tourism. He says, ‘It is very limited what we can offer tourists because we have not generated a dollar since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic’.
Junta Ciudadana Provincial de #Galapagos is asking to condemn this payments until March 2021, until they can recover and tourists start using their services such as daily tours, bay tours, diving and fishing tours.
Authorities have not given a statement.
