Of the 60 nationally protected areas, only Galapagos will remain open.
The Ministry of Environment and Water (MAE) reported that all areas protected at the national level (60 in total) will be closed for the Easter holiday.
The State Portfolio indicated that the objective of the measures is to prevent Covid-19 contagions among visitors and staff working at each of these sites.
For this reason, all protected areas located in the continental area will be closed on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 April 2021.
Of the 60 national reserves, only Galapagos will be enabled. This news was published Ecuador’s Ministry of Environment and Water on its Twitter account. (AVV)
