On Thursday, the Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment reported the collection of 2.1 tons of garbage in a second coastal cleaning trip of the Galapagos archipelago, in addition to the 2.5 tons collected in the first marine cleaning day carried out in February.
He explained that during the week, 18 people, including park rangers, volunteers, fishermen, together with members of the Conservation International organization with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation of Ecuador, made the second cleaning trip to distant sites in the north of the archipelago, specifically at the Genovesa, Pinta and Santiago Islands.
