The establishment ranks as one of the best luxury accommodations in the world. It was built with recycled material.

New York-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure’s list of the best all-inclusive resorts in the world, Pikaia Lodge ranks among them. It is an exclusive hotel that combines a high level of luxury with the highest environmental standards since its official opening in 2014. Accommodation costs between $3,200 and $3,500 per room per night, although Ecuadorians have a promotional rate of $345 per night.

[…]In the magazine’s description of the lodge, it highlights: “Off the coast of Ecuador in the Galapagos Islands, travelers will find Pikaia Lodge, a luxurious all-inclusive that caters to active and adventurous types. Built entirely from recycled materials, the property is 100 percent carbon neutral and sits between two dormant volcano craters on Santa Cruz Island. It has 14 beautiful suites located in a private reserve of giant tortoises. As for activities here, guests can participate in small-group, guided marine programs, exploring neighboring islands and notable wildlife sites in the Galapagos National Park while on board the lodge’s 105-foot luxury yacht. ”

It is worth remembering that the actor and activist Leonardo DiCaprio stayed there last March when, among other activities on his agenda, he held a meeting with former president Lenín Moreno in which they discussed environmental issues.

The American actor started a fund of $43 million dollars to work for the protection of Galapagos species, whose purpose is to repopulate some islands with turtles, nightingales and pink iguanas. “Protect what remains wild and save the rest,” is the stated central principle of DiCaprio’s initiative, “Rewild.”

The list of all-inclusive luxury resorts includes accommodations in the Maldives, Botswana, Panama, Chile, Zambia, Mexico, Thailand, Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, the United States, among other countries.

The Pikaia Lodge hotel is considered one of the best in the world in its category, according to various awards received.

The recently Minister of Tourism of Ecuador Niels Olsen highlighted on social networks the appointment granted to Pakai: “Congratulations @PikaiaLodge in Galapagos for being recognized by @travelandleis as 1 of the 19 all-inclusive luxury resorts in the world!”

Travel + Leisure publishes 12 times a year and has 4.8 million readers according to its corporate media kit (data taken from Wikipedia).
